Role Summary/Purpose:
Essential Responsibilities: The Project Manager NPI (New Product Introductions) is responsible for all NPI related activities within Plant Leadership Team. The Project Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
  • Provide New Product Introduction (NPI) program management for product lines and assume responsibility for quality, cost, and schedule of program deliverables
  • Integrate with Program Leaders, R&D, sales and P&L teams to identify and define technology programs to create products that increase output, improve efficiency, or reduce operating cost
  • Identify and translate customer wants and needs into product features, offerings, and requirements and identify enabling technologies required to produce these product offerings
  • Define project requirements (SOW) to meet program objectives, including investment (P&E), resource requirements, tollgate schedule, and budget
  • Perform financial analysis including overall expense, investment budgeting, and project benefits and internal rate of return
  • Manage execution of programs using NPI Tollgate process and DFSS rigor to ensure that all CTQ’s are satisfied and that new offerings are validated appropriately to mitigate risk before introduction
  • Ensure that all resources are effectively applied to meet program tollgates and satisfy CTQ’s
  • Drive manufacturing and sourcing scheduling and strategies to meet the needs of business
  • Coordinate material input to ensure on time delivery and output schedules to maximize productivity
  • Interface with quality, fulfillment team, sourcing, engineering, and logistics on a continuous basis
  • Responsible for reporting-out frequently on the status of initiatives, and client business performance
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Strong experience in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, and design processes in machining sector
  • Ability to manage complex multi-year technical programs in a matrix resource environment
  • Strong process discipline with sound analytic and statistical skills
  • Strong track record of execution
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Prior program / project management experience is preferred
  • Six Sigma training is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred
