Role Summary/Purpose: The Senior Systems Engineer will serve as the integrator between transient performance and controls, ensure correct requirements flow down and implementation between the two teams as well as consulting the team on best approach. This engineer will be supporting the Advanced Turboprop Systems Engineering team in the execution of the GE93 program. This new program will produce a family of products to enable GE to grow in the Business and General Aviation market.
Essential Responsibilities: The Senior Staff Engineer / Technologist demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

  • Execute and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
  • Lead business initiatives in design, materials, manufacturing, quality and/or productivity
  • Define and develop product processes related to design, analysis, test, materials, manufacture, quality and/or productivity
  • Identify need for technical and program reviews within the organization
  • Lead technical reviews and participate as a reviewer
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments as appropriate
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and contract commitments
  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems

Rivalta di Torino, Warsaw and Prague are considered locations for this position.
Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
  • Strong relevant experience in an engineering position
  • EU work permit
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace or aero-thermal sciences is preferred
  • Prior thermodynamics cycle, transient controls, and inclement weather operability experience
  • Prior experience with GE documentation system, practices and requirements (GE employees only)
  • Ability to sort through information and make timely and sound decisions
  • Six Sigma training is preferred
  • Ability to consistently produce high quality work in a production environment
  • Able to prioritize work, and communicate openly in stressful situations and make timely decisions in a fast paced work environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
